The Bury St Edmunds Labour Party today formally launched our District Council Election Campaign with a well-attended public meeting at The Apex in Bury.
The Labour Party is contesting all of the Council wards in the town, and using the opportunity for as many people as possible to meet our candidates and to hear how Labour intends to shape the new West Suffolk Council.
Constituency Secretary, Nicola Iannelli-Popham said:
“Support for Labour has been growing and we now have over 500 members in Bury alone. We have excellent candidates and we are delighted to have the opportunity to discuss Labour’s approach with local people. The Conservative Council has not done enough for its residents in key areas such as housing, the environment and with young people. Labour aims to provide a strong challenge to the new Council to protect local services and to deliver a more open and inclusive approach.”
